First announced at the World Humanitarian Summit in 2016, Refugee Code Week initiative has been rebranded recently to “Digital Skills for Today”. Digital Skills for Today
has a vision to digitally empower youth, refugees and minority populations around conflict zones. To achieve this vision, we carry on activities to shape the next generation of experts in technology use through job-relevant training and employment opportunities with partners including INJAZ, ReBootKamp (RBK) and Re:Coded. In 2018, this program trained 824+ youth on different coding suites. ReBootKamp (RBK) produced 67, market-ready, full-stack software engineers for a combined lifetime GDP contribution of $268 million USD, while Re:Coded trained 130 youths in Iraq and Turkey on Android or Web Development.
